With the spike of Covid 19 cases in India and Maharashtra government has come up with new guidelines and norms which make the wearing of masks compulsory again. Over the last three days, over 1000 covid cases were recorded in Maharashtra. Hence, the state government has started taking precautions to contain the spike.

The health ministry of the state has also asked district and local government bodies to speed up the covid tests in order to have minimum hospitalization. "People should be advised to wear masks in closed public spaces like trains, buses, cinemas, auditoriums, offices, hospitals, colleges, and schools," said Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Pradeep Vyas.

He has also asked personnel to conduct the analysis of new cases frequently from time to time. And to also matin the record of place and person so that a ground-level action plan can be strategized and executed. In the letter issued it is stated that a certain number of samples need to be checked for genomic sequencing to be identified INSACOG laboratory.

It also emphasized increasing the vaccination drive as an added precaution. Also, a booster dose should be registered and expedited, and vaccination in the 12-18 age group should be improved.
