Youth icons and K-pop sensations BTS were invited to the White House (Oval Office) yesterday to discuss diversity and pluralism in the world and other interconnected problems and concerns with President of the United States Joe Biden. The meeting between them happened for 35 minutes.

During the interaction, the bangtan boys and President Biden had a discussion on anti-Asian hate crimes and Asian inclusion and also had a conversation about President Biden’s recent visit to South Korea which was his first visit to Asia ever since he became the president.

President Biden started the conversation by talking about discrimination and the recent surge in anti-Asian hate crimes. President Biden stated, “Hate only hides. When good people talk about it and say how bad it is, it goes down. People care a lot about what you say, and what you are doing is good for all people.” He further said, “It’s not just your good talent. It’s the message you are communicating. It matters.”
