Yesterday the news of the well-known singer Sidhu Moose Wala being shot dead in Punjab left the nation astound. The incident has once again highlighted the prolonged law and order problem in the state of Punjab with the current AAP government in power. Social media is flooded with condolence messages for the young personality while his fans and followers demand justice.

Several saddening videos and photos displaying the broken windshield of his car with bullet holes, the backseat covered in blood, and Sidhu Moose Wala lying in an unconscious state have gone viral on social media. According to the reports, over 30 rounds of bullets were fired at his vehicle in the daylight.

The heartwrenching incident took place in Mansa district of Punjab, and at the backdrop of a day after Sidhu's security cover was removed by the AAP government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann. Sidhu was immediately admitted to the Mansa Civil Hospital by the locals but unfortunately, during the treatment, the young singer-rapper passed away.

Sidhu had always found himself into controversies though that did not affect his fan following as the deceased star has followers of millions on social media. Here we take a look at some lesser-known facts about him.

Sidhu was born and brought up in Moose Wala village in Mansa district of Punjab, India. Later, after pursuing his degree studies, he shifted to Canada where he released his first song 'G Wagon'. He was very attached to his parents and had even released songs dedicated to them called "Dear Mama" and "Bapu".
He gained popularity as an artist with the song 'So High in 2017, a gangster rap collaboration with Byg Byrd. After he has released several hit songs like Issa Jatt, Tochan, Selfmade, Famous, and Warning Shots to name a few, and had never looked back. The one common element in all of his songs was his obsession with guns.

However, His love for guns and different lyrics style indulged him in the controversy and also because many people accused he is hurting the religious sentiments through his songs. His conflict and competition with rapper Karan Aujla are openly talking of discussion. They always responded and excoriated each other through songs. During their tour to India in 2019, both the artists created a buzz as their rivalry was revealed.

Sindhu was an outspoken and opinionated person. He openly made statements on the controversial Khalistan issue. In December 2020, he composed a new song 'Panjab: My Motherland.' Because of this, he was accused of glorifying Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the video.
Earlier to that in May 2020 young singer's two videos with five police officers went viral on digital platforms. In the video, he was seen being trained to use an AK-47 with five police officers who were present in one the videos. Later after the incident, 6 police officials who aided Moose Wala were suspended and Sidhu Moose Wala was booked under two sections of the arms act.

Sidhu stepped into politics by joining Congress for the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election, in December 2021. Allegedly, a case was registered against him under Section 188 of IPC for conducting a door-to-door campaign in the Mansa constituency and violating the code of conduct. In April 2022, He released his new song titled 'Scapegoat' after which the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that the well-known singer called the voters of Punjab gaddar (traitors) in the song.

Apart from being a politician and singer, Sidhu Moose Wala is also an actor. He made his acting debut in Punjabi film with the film titled Yes I Am Student, produced by his own production company Jatt Life Studios.
