Many fans took to Twitter to share snippets of Depp and Chew sharing a hug as the lawyer returned to his seat beside the actor after presenting his closing argument.
In the viral video, Ben Chew is heard saying, “It's about restoring his lost reputation. It's about showing Mr Depp's children, Lily-Rose and Jack, that the truth is worth fighting for. It's about restoring Mr Depp's name and standing in the community to the fullest extent that you can, and you can do something.” After concluding, Chew returned to his seat beside Depp. The actor hugged him, earning a warm reaction from people on social media.

They both meet on the sets of The Rum Diary in the year 2009. After a few years, they started dating each other. In the year 2016, Heard filed a case that Deep had physically abused her during their marriage under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Deep denied all the accusations and stated that Heard was "attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse." Their divorce got Finalized in the year 2017.
Johnny later sued Amber Heard for defamation because of an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018. In the op-ed, headlined “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change,” Heard claimed that she was a domestic abuse survivor. However, she did not name Depp.
