Ustad Zakir Hussain the veteran tabla player paid a sincere homage to legendary santoor maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. He passed away at the age of 83 due to cardiac arrest on May 10. After presenting a guard of honor in Juhu, where his mortal remains were kept for people to pay their last respects, his funeral took place at Vile Parle’s Pawan Hans Crematorium. The legendary santoor player was incinerated with state honors in the presence of family and close friends earlier this week.
The santoor player’s family members including his wife Manorama and sons Rahul and Rohit, and his friends from the industry, including long-time colleagues Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Zakir Hussain, were present. after the cremation, he was given a gun salute.
