Starting where Jayeshbhai Patel (Ranveer Singh) who is the only son of Traditional Gujrati Sarpanch, Pruthvish (Boman Irani) is stuck between impartial, narrow minded and backward class people. He and his wife, Mudra Patel (Shalini Pandey) are not able to give a son and heir to their family and in that process, they have feticide 4-5 girls after saving the first one, Jia Vidya (Siddhi).

Jayeshbhai is tired of these feticides and his parents’ wish to have a son, he’s tired of intolerable formalities, traditions women in their village are facing and he decides to save the current child as it turns out that that child is also a girl. He makes a full proof plan and runs away from the village with his wife and daughter.

Further till the first half of the movie ends we witness the typical Bollywood Tom & Jerry; catch & run! With many twists and turns eventually, they fall in traps of the Ramlal Patel and every time save themselves anyhow. In the second half, the climax gets more predictable and story ends with some entertaining yet emotional note.

With the Director’s perspective, the significance of small-small things Divyang Thakkar has used is quite phenomenal. When you’ll watch the film, you’ll realize that the situations women are going through are worse than we can even imagine. He creates the whole different world and keeps the drama in the story awake. Despite showing just backward and brutal things he has also shown the side of new generation in Siddhi. She has been the driving force in the whole movie which we don’t expect having a studded star cast around.

In the acting part, loopholes are less than nothing! Ranveer Singh as always lives the character while Shalini Pandey doesn’t seem off bit for a second in front of him being a newbie in the house. Boman Irani makes us hate him while we walk out of the theatre, the man has literally pulled off his character really well.

Music wise as well the movie looks good having three songs and the Firecracker song in the subtitles don’t let us move. Overall it’s a package and a perfect family entertainer this weekend as, Jayeshbhai is ‘Ekdum’ Jordaar.
