Indian diaspora is collectively taking efforts to boost Indian cinema at a time when there is a void that can be experienced in the films these days. Against the backdrop of the Russia Ukraine War, Hollywood condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine with major distributors boycotting the release of their movies in Russian theatres. OTT platforms such as Netflix, Discovery, WarnerMedia, and Amazon too have curbed their services in Russia.

At such a time the Indian body organized the event where the audience got the chance to enjoy a Bollywood dance program by dance groups from Russia. Later, the screening of the new Indian film ‘Runway 34’, featuring Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Rakul Preet Singh was organized.
Indian cinema is being welcomed and promoted widely in Russia, especially in the capital city of Moscow. There was an era when Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, and the others from the film industry were household names there.

Further, it is also being said that the Indian film industry has got an invitation to do filming in Russia. However, there looms a threat of films facing boycott as they are shot in Russia and might affect the business.
