Opinion: Hightime For Bollywood To Open Its Doors For Pan Indian Content, Calling The Film Industry As One!

Currently, the Indian film industry as a whole is seen to be divided into bits and pieces due to various aspects taking from content to language and actors, and filmmakers in the industry. The recent ongoing debate on regional and national languages highlighted the increasing gap between Indian cinema as a whole.

We observed the division of opinion among the celebrities some favoring the Hindi language while some stressing the regional language. The Twitter war between Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep is making the headlines in which other celebs like Ram Gopal Verma, Kangana Ranaut, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, etc have also expressed their opinion on the same.

What Bollywood needs to realize is that the Indian film industry is not just comprised of Hindi language films or just popular celebrities who are dominating the industry over the years. There are far more avenues that have opened up in the industry. Today OTT platforms are at their peak in the country and clearly people are enjoying the content on these platforms because there is not just the variety in content but also the actors who play those out-of-the-box characters. these platforms have become a launchpad for new talent in the field of acting, choreography, editing, story writing, and everything that goes into the making of a film or a web show.

The other important thing that Bollywood needs to think of is the inclusivity of the regional languages, ideas, and actors. The films should be made keeping pan Indian view and not just any particular audience. The reason behind regional language films doing well and being loved by the viewers is that they are breaking the cliches and there is originality in content. And to add on is the talent that is the characters are played by the actors.

Cinema is a form of art and a medium to reach out to the masses. The people associated with the industry have huge followers. Thus there should be a sense of responsibility amongst the people industry of what ideas they are putting across. because currently what we can see is divisive opinions are shared that disturb the social harmony and spread hatred.

Films and actors of all languages should be treated equally. there shouldn't be discrimination on the basis of language. Today's audience does not just enjoy watching films of Indian regional language but foreign languages as well so it is something that goes beyond these boundaries. The term 'Global Village' is turning out to be true in real-time. There is content that is coming from across the globe. Thus Bollywood should open its mind to much-needed change and be more inclusive and have acceptance otherwise the industry will suffer the consequences. The success of films like RRR, Pushpa: The Rise, KGF: Chapter 2 has already begun!
