Aashiqui 2 tells story of once-a-pop-sensation of the nation , Rahul (played by Aditya Roy Kapur) who is an alcohol-driven , don’t-give-a-damn- attitude maniac. His life changes completely when he meet Arohi (played by Shraddha Kapoor) and helps her achieve popularity from a small time bar singer into a musical sensation.

Mohit Suri kept the momentum alive from the classic Aashiqui with the sequel. Coming to performances, Aditya Roy Kapur gave his best shot. He emotes expressively and deep-dives into the character of an obsessed lover. Shraddha Kapoor looked gorgeous and gives an honest performance. The romantic drama belonged to Mithoon, Ankit Tiwari and Jeet Ganguly who gave memorable songs like “Tum Hi Ho”, “Sunn Raha Hai” and “Chahun Main Ya Naa” supported by beautiful lyrics by Irshad Kamil and Sandeep Nath.

According to the Boxofficeindia.comAashiqui 2  was released on 26th April, 2013 at 1150 screens to Rs 5.11 crores.  Produced by T-Series and Mukesh Bhatt, the romantic-drama collected Rs 17.90 crores in its first weekend and went onto collect Rs 34.69 crores in its first week. Aashiqui 2 ended its theatrical run with Rs 78.64 crores against a budget of Rs 15 crores and turned out to be “Blockbuster” at the box office.
