KGF 2 showed a slight drop which was expected since the action drama has opened much ahead of expectations.
After the success of KGF Chapter 1, starring Yash , the second part has broken all the records on its first day at the box office by becoming the highest opening film ever in India, beating the likes of WAR, Thugs Of Hindostan, Happy New Year and Bahubali 2. Thanks to the first look poster, thrilling trailer and brilliant promos, the advance booking of KGF 2 was god-like beating the advance booking of RRR, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer WAR and even SS Rajamouli directed Bahubali 2 with the advance collection taking a huge leap.
The action drama opened to an excellent response in the morning shows with the occupancy range 75-80% across India in the Hindi version which was the best since Bahubali 2. This can be called as bumper opening which used to happen with films like WAR and Thugs Of Hindostan in pre-pandemic era. The collections just got better as the word of mouth review is solid as per Book My Show towards evening and night shows which helped KGF Chapter 2 collect Rs 53.95 crore from 4400 screen in the Hindi version.
KGF 2 First Day Box Office : Beats Bahubali 2 To Become The Highest Opening Hindi Dubbed Film Of ALL Time
Due to the Good Friday holiday, the earnings held well on the second day with Rs 46.79 crore. On Satursday, the collections went down but was still in the range of Rs 40-42 crore, which is simply superb since the action drama has consistently given 40+ crore in all three day.
With this collection, KGF 2 has minted Rs 140-142 crore in 3 days in Hindi version. As per early trade report, the action drama has minted around Rs 80 crore in all languages, bringing the overall 3 days collections to Rs 285 crore. In the overseas market, the Yash starrer has summed up Rs 105-115 crore, bringing a sensational worldwide total to Rs 400-405 crore.
The budget is Rs 100 crore which has easily been achieved as the action drama collected Rs 128 crore net in all languages. KGF: Chapter 2 stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar and several other actors form the supporting cast.
