Chennai Super Kings are facing challenges as their beginning in the IPL 2022 haven’t been great. CSK have lost 4 out of 5 matches, considering the changes in the squad, captaincy of Jadeja who has never captained any team since his debut & unavailability of star players.

Now CSK faces another big blow as their star strike bowler Deepak Chahar has ruled out of the IPL 2022 due to his back injury, CSK official handle confirms.

“Official Announcement! Deepak Chahar will be missing the  IPL 2022 due to a back injury. Send in all the #Yellove for a speedy recovery to namma Cherry!” Chennai Super Kings.

Chahar was an integral part of CSK's fourth championship win last year, claiming 14 wickets from 15 games at an economy of 8.35. His role as the team's PowerPlay enforcer with the ball got the franchise to break the bank for him at the auction ahead of this season. CSK eventually signed their player for INR 14 crore, staving off competition from three different franchises.

Chahar sustained the injury days after the auction and missed the subsequent series against Sri Lanka while rehabilitating at the NCA. There were suggestions that the India seamer would return to action for CSK at the end of April but the setback put paid to all those hopes.
