RRR 3rd Tuesday Box Office – Slows Down
Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was unstoppable at the box office thanks to the solid response from the audience and amazing user reviews as per Book My Show which led the biopic drama collect an outstanding Rs 68.93 crore in first week followed by Rs 36.52 crore in the second week which was good considering a big competition from Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund and Hollywood biggie The Batman.
There were two big releases this week - The Kashmir Files and Radhe Shyam but the biopic drama held on to its ground, bringing the lifetime total to Rs 129 crore, making it the highest grossing film of Alia Bhatt beating her previous achievement - Raazi, which collected Rs 123.74 crore.

Jhund - 5th March
Based on the life of Vijay Barse, the first release of March was Jhund which starred Amitabh Bachchan in the title and film is made by the director of Marathi smash hit fiilm Sairat – Nagraj Manjule. While Gangubai Kathiawadi revived the box office, Jhund opened on a low note and the clash with the Hollywood biggie - The Batman, deteriorated its performance with just Rs 15.16 crore which was not enough to bring profit to the producers, considering the budget of Jhund is Rs 30 crore.

Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files went from strength to strength while Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam disappointed on first Monday at the box office. After giving us a solid and hard-hitting The Tashkent Files, Vivek Agnihotri is back with yet another riveting truth on Kashmir with The Kashmir Files had already won the hearts audience to watch it on the first day itself. There was a humongous growth as the day progressed and the movie is still running and has crossed the 250 crore milestone. The budget of The Kashmir Files is Rs 14 crore.
Prabhas next big film, Radhe Shyam, which is directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, unfortunately failed to take off in Hindi language. The collections dropped heavily due to poor reviews and The Kashmir Files wave impacted the action drama tremendously which collected just Rs 19.30 crore. The budget of Radhe Shyam is Rs 300 Crores while the Hindi Version has a cost of 50 Crores
Bachchan Paandey - 18th March
Directed by Farhad Samji, Bachchhan Paandey is expected bring more heat in summer. A remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’, the movie title derives from a character of the same name, played by Akshay Kumar, in the 2008 film. Though Bachchhan Paandey opened with Rs 13.25 crore on its first day from 3000 screens, it failed miserably thanks to the audience choosing the hard-hitting drama over the masala entertainer. Bachchan Paandey collected just Rs 49.98 crore against a budget of Rs 165 crore and was second failure for the month of March.
RRR - 25th March
March month ended on a bright note as the team of SS Rajamouli, and the Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt starrer are already on cloud nine as it became the second film after The Kashmir Files to enter the 200 crore club. RRR also posted a stellar 132.59 crore which turned out to be the highest first week collection post pandemic beating Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi (Rs 120.66 crore).
There was a big Bollywood release in form of John Abraham starrer Attack but that did no impact the biopic drama as it went onto collect Rs 76 crore in the second week. RRR has now brought the overall total to around Rs 237 crore (still running) in Hindi version and overall total to around Rs 730 crore. The budget of RRR is estimated to be around Rs 600 crore.
