The Kashmir Files becomes the first film to cross the 250 crore milestone post-pandemic.
Vivek Agnihotri proved that content is the king as his latest riveting truth on Kashmir with The Kashmir Files had already won the hearts audience from the first day itself. Surprisingly, the blunt film opened decently in the morning shows but thanks to the mind blowing (as per Book My Show), collected a solid Rs 97.30 crore in first week followed a better performing second week with Rs 108.97 crore despite the release of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey. Due to a big release of SS Rajamouli directed RRR, the political drama dropped in its third week with 30.95 crore though it dropped further in the 4th week with Rs 9.95 crore due to the release of Attack and Hollywood film Morbius
The political drama suffered on 4th Friday with Rs 50 lakhs but bumped up its collection on Saturday to Rs 85 lakhs followed by further growth on Sunday with Rs 1.15 crore, summing up the total to Rs 250.73 crore and has now become the first film to cross 250 crore milestone. The Kashmir Files has been made on an overall budget of Rs 14 crore and will be crossing the 200 mark today itself.
This film is directed and produced by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri in association with Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and Zee Studio. It tells the true story Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their own land in Kashmir in 1990. The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Darshan Kumar, Prakash Belawadi, Mrinal Kulkarni, and Chinmay Mandlekar in key roles.
