Who won today’s IPL match?: The 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Mumbai Indians at MCA Stadium in Pune.  

Mumbai’s poor run continued in this game as well as the Faf du Plessis-led side dominated them to hand them their fourth straight defeat in the tournament. On the other hand, RCB bagged their third win of the season and have become a team to beat.

Invited to bat first, Mumbai Indians had a fiery start as openers Ishan Kishan (26) and Rohit Sharma (26) scored fifty runs for the opening partnership. However, after they they suffered a debacle and were reduced from 50/0 to 79/6

Suryakumar Yadav played a lone hand for his side and smashed an unbeaten 68 runs to take his side to the fighting total of 151 runs. For RCB, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 2/23.

Chasing the target, RCB opener Anuj Rawat (66) and Faf du Plessis (16) were watchful in the power play and scored just 30 runs. After the wicket of skipper, Virat Kohli (48) and Rawat took charge to MI bowlers and kept scoring boundaries at regular intervals to keep the run rate in control.

The duo stitched 50+ partnership and made the opposition look clueless. Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell then closed the play and won the match for his side by 7 wickets and with 9 balls to spare.

Man of the match today IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opening batter Anuj Rawat was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Mumbai Indians. Opening the batting for his side, the southpaw looked very positive and showed great intent for his 66 runs knock. He gave his side a perfect start in the chase of 152 runs. His knock was laced with 2 fours and 6 big sixes that helped his side register their third win of the season.
