Few portions of Sharmaji Namkeen was finally completed by Paresh Rawal due to untimely demise of Rishi Kapoor in 2020.
This Is The Amount Charged by Anupam Kher And Mithun Chakraborty For The Kashmir Files
RRR 1st Tuesday Box Office – Crosses 100 Crore In Hindi And 400 Crore In All Languages In Just 5 Days
Sharmaji Namkeen, premiered on Amazon Prime, shows despite what ever be the circumstances, always pursue your dream. Sharmaji Namkeen tells the story of a middle class in Delhi – Assistant Manager Broj Gopal Sharma (Rishi Kapoor) who is a single father takes voluntary retirement. Post retirement, life becomes tough for Brij as he goes into a depression mode due to lack of work. This is when he chases his passion and find his love for food again.
The Kashmir Files 3rd Tuesday Box Office – Beats Salman Khan’s Kick
Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, the comedy drama focuses on what one needs to do post retirement. Shall the person be part of gossiping gang or shall he/she goes into the spiritual journey ? In this film, Sharma Ji chose to do what he loves the most - cooking. Due to the incomplete portion, Paresh Rawal agreed to complete the scenes which could not be done by legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. You may find it little abrupt as the scene swaps between Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal for the same character but thanks to the convincing performances by both actors and well-handled by the director, Sharmaji Namkeen turns out to be a fun-loving slice of dice comedy.
The Kashmir Files 3rd Sunday Box Office – Beats Chennai Express
Sharmaji Namkeen does suffer from melodrama in between but what I loved was the climax scene. Technically, it is a very simple film with no glossy and candy floss sets and decent camera work supported with a run-it-through background score. Sharma Ji Namkeen belongs to Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. Rishi Kapoor is as effervescence in the pivotal role who gets a solid support from Paresh Rawal. I wish I could get to see more of Rishi Kapoor's fine acting. He can get into any character and with so much of ease. The comedy drama also has Juhi Chawla who emotes expressively and her bonding with both Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal is phenomenal.
Sharmaji Namkeen encourages you to live your dream as there is no such thing as being too old to pursue it. Very good attempt – 3.5 /5
