The Golden Globe awards kicks off the season of awards in Hollywood which eventually ends with the Oscars. The 2022 Oscars awards, which also celebrates the 94th edition, were full of surprises with Will Smith and Jessica Chastain earning their first Oscars award in the Best Actor and Best Actress category, CODA winning Best Film, followed by Dune with 5 Oscars in Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, Best Sound, Best Production Design and Best Cinematography. Oscars favorite The Power of the Dog was snubbed with just one award for Best Director for Jane Campion even after earning 12 nominations.
