In the new episode of Lock Upp, fashion designer Saisha Shinde spoke about how upset she gets when she is called with the wrong pronouns.

Saisha Shinde slams Kaaranvir Bohra for referring to her as "he"

The episode started off with Saisha being told that she will not be allowed to smoke as the doors were going to be shut. Saisha started yelling at the jailers and screamed about not giving a damn about the rules. Later she got to smoke but when Kaaranvir Bohra called her "he" by mistake she lost it. For the unversed, Saisha Shinde came out recently as a transwoman and declared her official name as Saisha from Swapnil. Even though Kaaranvir apologized to her Saisha broke down and felt that she wasn't being accepted. Nisha Rawal, her fellow inmate decided to address to everyone that they need to respect Saisha and call her with appropriate pronouns i.e she/her.

This caused an argument between Munawar and Nisha as Munawar flips at Nisha for shouting and then he goes on to say, "I do not think Saisha needs anyone to stand for her." To which Nisha replies, "If we cannot respect her choice in this jail, what do you think the world will do? She feels choked and cannot talk about it by herself." Hearing this Saisha breaks down.

She then confronts the contestants, especially Kaaranvir where she was seen asking them how would they feel if someone addressed them with the wrong pronouns. "I am glad this happened. Now, people will see what a transwoman goes through. Even for something as small as the pronouns. How will you feel if I call you (Kaaranvir) she or Poonam he all the time?"

She later mentions how her mother stills call her Swapnil at home but later tells them that it's understandable for a fact that she has lived most of her life being Swapnil and that it will take a while for people around her to accept the change.
