Vihaan Samat says He is blessed to play this character in Eternally Confused and Eager for Love.

The best love stories on film are usually self-aware, sometimes even radically so — whether it is Richard Linklater’s Before trilogy or the threadbare romantic dramas of François Truffaut and Raj Kapoor.

Netflix’s new romantic dramedy, Eternally Confused and Eager for Love, helmed by writer-director Rahul Nair, hopes to achieve a similar status. The story is of the many travails of 24-year-old Ray, portrayed by Vihaan Samat, as he keeps messing up, learning, unlearning and messing up again.

A slice of life, coming of age fluffy show written and directed by Rahul Nair is going to attract lots of bitter feedback, words like “meaningless” and “real India” will do the rounds, where bitter people will shake their heads and fists at their TV or laptop screens because characters aren’t starring in poverty porn or hinterland crime dramas

While asking about his character Vihaan Samat in an exclusive interview said;

“When you watch media nowadays you always see some kind of protagonist, they sometimes go through difficulties but they are always self-assured, always know what they have to do. But Ray is completely different. He doesn’t know what to say and even if he does it’s not the right thing to say. He trips over himself; he doesn’t have the feeling of self-assuredness. I think Ray is the very very unique character and I’m blessed to play him.”
