The Government of India has decided to introduce a postal stamp to honour the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and as expected nobody opposed and everyone supported the decision for honouring the Nightingale.

The whole country is mourning the unfortunate demise of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. She breathed her last on February 06 at the age of 92. The singer was fighting the COVID-19 battle and was later diagnosed with pneumonia.

She got admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital in early January and pased away on Sunday due to multiple-organ failure. Lata Mangeshkar was the best female singer of all times, her voice had a soothing effect on everyone .

She had begun singing from the age of around 14 . She will forever be in our hearts and her musical legacy will continue till the end of time .To Honour her the contribution she has done for our country Today, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology of India, Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the stamp would be an appropriate honour for the 'Nightingale of India'.

It will be released as a commemorative stamp.In her rememberance, the Rajya Sabha during the ongoing session observed a minute's silence. Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu also paid a tribute to her in the house as he read an obituary.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Lata Mangeshkar's ashes were collected by her nephew Adinath Mangeshkar from Mumbai's Shivaji Park.She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai on Feb 6.

The singer passed away at the age of 92. Famously known as Nightingale of India, she was laid to rest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park with full state honours. The government declared two days of national mourning in remembrance of the singer and the national flag to be flown at half-mast throughout the country.

Lata Mangeshkar will forever be the Queen 👑 of Music Industry and her work will always be an inspiration for the coming generations of singers . She will always be loved and missed . RIP India's Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar .
