Let’s talk about a wondrous saree which fixes into a Matchbox and the details!
The sari, which weighs only 30 gm has been woven by R. Narayanappa (Age 69) and wife Kamalamma (Age 65), a traditional weaver couple.
When US President Barack Obama and wife Michelle visit Bangalore in November, they will be gifted a six-yard, Mysore silk sari that will weigh only 30 gm.
The best thing about the saree is that, it can be folded to fit inside a matchbox.

Narayanappa is famous for his weaving experiments. He wanted to gift the Obama family a very extraordinary gift which would be forever remembered and which would also increase the pride of the state!
According to the weavers, silk from only three cocoons was used to weave the sari (a normal sari uses silk from 24 cocoons).
Due to the tremendous dedication and experience the couple succeeded in creating this masterpiece Silk Saree!
