Rahul Sharad Dravid was born on 11 January 1973) is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national team, currently serving as its head coach. Prior to his appointment to the senior men's national team, Dravid was the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), and the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams.

Known for his sound batting technique, Dravid scored 24,177 runs in international cricket and is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He is also known as Mr. Dependable and often referred to as The Wall.

Rahul Dravid has played 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and a T20I for India. He has scored 13,288 Test runs and 10,889 ODI runs. He scored 36 centuries in Tests and 12 in ODIs.

The best of bowlers feared him , they felt as if it is impossible to take his wicket as his defence is very very strong. In test matches he used to defend 10-15 bowls and when the bowler used to get frustrated and bowled on the wrong length or gave any opportunity, he used to hit for a six .

Best bowlers of the world , even Shoaib Akhtar has said that Dravid was like a wall as he did not let a single ball out of hundreds to hit the stump. His strategy was dangerous both mentally and physically for the bowlers .

He used to defend against the bowler when the bowler has huge energy and when the bowler got tired and got mentally frustated that he is not getting out then he made mistake and then Rahul attacked and showed his aggression .

A small time ago Rahul did an advertisement on television in which he was shown as a very angry person or one can say that his angry and agressive side was shown which surprised the people as they were expecting him to be the nice , humble and normal guy which he has always been throughout his career .
