Tanhaji crossed milestones and with each passing, setting a new record at the box office thanks to wonderful reviews. The historical drama did extremely well, thanks to its insane earnings in Maharasthra. The historical drama clashed with Deepika Padukone starrer Chhapaak on 10th January but had a better first week collections with Rs 118.91 crore. Due to favorable reviews, second week ended with a bang minting Rs 78.54 crore in second week. It faced Kangana Ranaut starrer Panga and Varun Dhawan starrer Street Dancer but still collected Rs 40.42 crore in the third week. The historical drama refused to stop last week as it collected better than Saif Ali Khan starrer Jawaani Jaaneman in the fourth week with Rs 21.65 crore.

Despite the release of Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Kunal Khemu and Anil Kapoor starrer Malang and Vidhu Vinod Chopra directed Shikara yesterday, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer Tanhaji ended its domestic run with Rs 280 crore (approx) which was good enough to beat Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore) to become the 10th highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.
