Guwahati, Jan 9: Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain was seen in a different avatar as she walked the ramp at the ongoing ninth Northeast Festival.
The ace pugilist was the showstopper for designer duo Bidyut & Rakesh's wedding collection which was showcased on Saturday night. She wore a traditional Assamese saree of mulberry silk 'paat'.
Lovlina Borgohain (born 2 October 1997) is an Indian amateur boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the women's welterweight event, becoming only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.
She also won bronze medal at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships.
She won the gold medal at 1st India Open International Boxing Tournament held in New Delhi and silver medal at 2nd India Open International Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati.While addressing the media designer Bidyut Bikash Bhagawati said, "Lovlina Borgohain wore a dark maroon silk saree with Rose Gold sifina zari work and a silk shawl with traditional Assamese embellishment.
"While sharing her experience Borgohain said that she thoroughly enjoyed the new experience though her main aim is to win a gold medal in the Olympics .
