Met with good reviews, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui performed below expectations on its first day at the box office.
Ayushmann Khurrana is one such actor who has driven the Indian Cinema to a different level with the quality of films like Vicky Donor, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Article 15 and Dream Girl. His last film before the pandemic was Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which opened with Rs 9.55 crore despite clashing with Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot which released on the same day. Now, the talented actor is back with yet another unconventional film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
From the director of Kai Po Che and Rock One, Abhishek Kapoor brought the fresh pair of Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in a love story, dance, drama and a twist. Thanks to the interesting trailer, solid lead actor, talented director and entertainment factor, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opened somewhere between Rs 3-3.5 crore which is fine and should pick up on Saturday and Sunday as the word-of-mouth reviews is pretty good.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is made on a budget of Rs 40 Crores ( Production cost: 30 Crores, Advertising Cost : 10 Crores) and has released in 3000 screens worldwide ( India: 2500 screens, Overseas: 500 screens). The comedy drama is produced by T-Series and Guy in the Sky Pictures.
