According to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases 383 people have been admitted to hospital with omicron in the last 24 hours compared with 175 in the preceding period.

India will keep scheduled international passenger flights suspended till January 31, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Thursday.

The central government on Thursday removed Singapore from the list of ‘at-risk’ countries, which means international passengers from the nation arriving in India will not need to follow additional Covid-19 testing and quarantine measures.
The positivity rate of tests was 24.9% on Tuesday, down from 26.4% the day earlier. Over the 24 hours 27 deaths due to Covid-19 were recorded, taking the total confirmed number of deaths in the country since the pandemic began to 90,002.
