From the director of Rock On, Kai Po Che and Kedarnath, Abhishek Kapoor brings Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor together for the first time in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui which opens on 10th December.
Ayushmann Khurrana is one such actor who has driven the Indian Cinema to a different level with the quality of films like Vicky Donor, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Article 15 and Dream Girl. His last film before the pandemic was Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which opened with Rs 9.55 crore despite clashing with Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot which released on the same day. Shubh Mangal Zayada Saavdhan managed to collect Rs 62.05 crore which was underperforming considering Ayushmann Khurrana’s films have done better owing to the quality content.
And this time around Abhishek Kapoor is all set out to create a mind-bending love story with his much-anticipated film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, which stars the fresh pair of Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. As the first trailer of romantic drama came, we saw dose of humor and intricate emotions which promises to be a masala entertainer with a love story, dance, drama and a twist. Obviously, things are not what they were in 2019 with new restrictions, minimal occupancy and new variant creating scare among the audience which will certainly impact the box office performance of the romantic drama. However, the interesting trailer, solid lead actor, talented director and entertainment factor, which is required during this time, we predict Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui to open with Rs 4-6 crore and will entirely depend on word-of-mouth reviews to sustain at the box office.
