SII seeks Approval for Covishield vaccine as New Variant Concerns, Omricon variant concerns :

The Serum Institute of India has sought Indian drug regulator approval for the Covishield vaccine as a booster dose citing adequate stock of the vaccine in the country.

The Serum Institute of India is the First Indian Company to seek approval of Covishield vaccination. The Union Government has also informed that scientific evidence on the dose is being collected.

States like Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Kerela and Karnataka has also urged the central government for booster dose amid another variant of the concern omicron .

The Vaccine have been effective and the Indian government has made a record by giving 100 crore Vaccine for free.
