Former Indian Cricketer, Kapil Dev expressed his reactions towards Dipika Padukone plays role of his wife Romi Dev in upcoming Bollywood film, 83.

It was on June 25, 1983, when Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj, better known as Kapil Dev, had lifted every cricketer's dream trophy, ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy, for the first time in Indian cricket's history.

He had brought some of the most splendid wins to team India back-to-back. Therefore, in order to pay homage to his contributions to Indian cricket, director, Kabir Khan is coming up with his biopic, 83 with Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

There is no doubt that Kapil Dev is one of the greatest captains and all-rounders in world cricket. However, not many people are aware of the way his wife, Romi Bhatia, whose role will be played by Deepika Padukone in the biopic, had supported him.

Ever since the official trailer of the movie was dropped, Kapil Dev's biographical film, 83 has been garnering a lot of accolades and audiences cannot wait for the film to release. ''I think mixed because I don’t know how much the role of my wife is in 83. So one does not realize that what they are trying to do there.”

Further talking about Ranveer Singh playing his role in the movie said, ““I think you feel happy that such a great, talented actor is trying to work on that. I was little worried also because it’s a very athletic job to do that. But the way he worked and the way he was working through out in the last one year, I couldn’t believe that somebody can be so much keen in trying to do so much in that movie.”
