1300 - Year Old Sculpture of Durga Recovered from J&K by Police :

The Team reported to District Police Office Budgam today and established that the sculpture is of Goddess Durga and dates back to roughly 7th AD.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday recovered one ancient scripture of goddess Durga from khag area of Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam area .

The sculpture of the statue is carved in Black stone . The Statue is of Goddess Durga seated on a lion throne . The Sculpture is about 1300 years old.

The Statue of lordess Durga seated on a lion throne . The Left side of the arm is missing from the throne . The Sculpture is having the influence of gandhera school of arts .

The official team of department of archives , archeology and Museums of Jammu Kashmir were called for an examination of the recovered sculpture.
