Versatility King Nawazuddin Siddiqui becomes the only actor to have these many releases in 2022!

Be it commercial films, content-driven cinema, or even web shows — when it comes to author-backed roles or parts that need a powerhouse performer, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s name is among the top forces. Each year he is seen in multiple projects, which results in erratic work schedules. In the year gone by, Nawaz got an opportunity to slow down. He took a breather, spent a lot of time in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh, and caught up on what he believes are precious moments of his life.Talking about it, the actor tells BT, “Due to the long break last year, 2021 kuch zyaada hi packed rehne wala hai. I am happy that I will be shooting for projects across multiple genres. However, in 2022, I have decided that I will slow down. 2020 bahut kuch sikha ke gaya. It was tough for the whole world, but I am happy that it opened my eyes.”

So, as he plans to go easy on his projects, we ask the prolific actor what will he focus on? “The time I dedicated to myself last year, ab uski aadat pad chuki hai. So, I am going to take up something that I always wanted to do — travel the world. Yes, of course, as an actor I have travelled the length and breadth of the world, but that has been primarily for work — like film shoots, promotions or film festivals. Last year around this time, I was in the US and earlier I had visited Rome for a film shoot. Now, I want to take up travelling as a hobby. That experience is totally different, and maybe, it will help me as an artiste,” he explains.

He further adds, “Frankly, I don’t mind disappearing for a while. Abhi highway par hai iska yeh matlab nahi ki bas bhaagte hi rehna chahiye. I have been working constantly since 2010. It feels like a trap to me now. Bhai, meri bhi toh marzi honi chahiye!”
The actor says that the variety of roles that are offered to him is what keeps him alive and kicking in Bollywood. “As an actor, I am happy that I am picking up different characters jisse jeene ka ek sabab seekh paata hoon. This is exactly the reason that I chose this field, otherwise, ek hi type ka role thodi na karna hai. From Thackeray (2019) to Manto (2018), and thrillers to romance, I have explored different facets of cinema, yet, I still feel that I have just started, and I have a long way to go,” he signs off.
