Legendary boxer Mike Tyson is making his Indian cinema debut with the sports action flick ‘Liger’. The American sports icon will be sharing the screen space with Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda. As part of his shooting schedule in Las Vegas, the USA, Vijay happened to meet Mike Tyson. Sharing a candid moment with the legendary boxer on his Twitter handle, the ‘Dear Comrade’ actor wrote, “This man is love. Every moment I am making memories! And this one will forever be special..#Liger Vs The Legend.. When I came face to face with Iron @MikeTyson(sic).”
Ram Gopal Varma, too, shared the picture on his Twitter handle and commented, “INDIAN TIGER @TheDeverakonda meets AMERICAN LION @miketyson at a location shoot in LAS VEGAS for #Purijagan ‘s and @Charmmeofficial‘s LIGER and that’s what I call PUNCH POWER. Helmed by director Puri Jagannadh, the movie unit of ‘Liger’ is in the USA to shoot the crucial sequences involving Mike Tyson and Vijay Deverakonda. The shooting schedule began on Tuesday.
In association with Puri Connects, the film is being produced jointly by Bollywood’s Dharma Productions. The film in the crazy combination has cinematography handled by Vishnu Sarma, while Kecha from Thailand is the stunt director.
Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta together are bankrolling the film. Prominent actors include Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy. The movie is being made in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
‘Liger’ is currently in the last leg of shooting and the makers are planning to release the movie in the first half of 2022.
