Sooryavanshi 2nd Monday Box Office Report – Drops But Crosses Kesari To Become The 5th Highest Grossing Film Of Akshay Kumar
Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year as the cop drama went on to collect Rs 120.66 crore in first week. On the second Friday, the cop action drama held well on to its position and dropped by only 18% which is excellent with Rs 6.83 crore. On Saturday, the Karan Johar produced film went up by almost 50% to collect Rs 10.35 crore. The earnings shot up again on Sunday and minted Rs 13.39 crore bringing the 2nd weekend collections to Rs 30.57 crore and 10 days collections to Rs 151.23 crore. As per early estimates, Sooryvanshi dropped big time on Monday with somewhere between Rs 4-4.20 crore, summing up the total collections to Rs 155.23-155.43 crore. With this collection, Sooryavanshi has now become the 5th film highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar beating Kesari which collected Rs 153 crore in its lifetime.
On the other hand, the space drama Mission Mangal went up on its sixth day since it was the second Sunday, collecting a staggering Rs 15.30 crore, bringing the 11 days collections to Rs 164.61 crore. The budget of Mission Mangal was Rs 40 crore.
Sooryavanshi has been released in 3519 screens across India while the budget is estimated to be around Rs 165 crore (Production Cost: 150 Crore & Prints and Advertising cost: 15 Crores). Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, Cape Of Good Films. Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
