Arun kumar known mononymously as Atlee, is an Indian Director who makes Tamil-language films.former assistant director under S. Shankar on the films Enthiran (2010) and Nanban (2012).

He is best known for his directorial debut, Raja Rani, produced by Fox Star Studios, for which he was awarded the Vijay Award for Best Debut Director. His next ventures as a director, screenplay and write for Theri (2016), Mersal (2017) and Bigil (2019), all featured actor Vijay.

After delivering some back to back blockbusters with Vijay, director Atlee has moved to Bollywood, and teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan for a Pan Indian drama.The Badshah of Bollywood was last seen in director Aanand L Rai's movie, Zero, with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The movie did not hit the blockbusters target of big screen He continued to be in the news for all good reasons. In meanwhile time the report said the actor Shah rukh Khan upcoming film with director Ateel.Although Shah Rukh hasn't confirmed the project yet, the rumor abuzz around the collaboration of actor with director Atlee.
The latest development on his rumoured next with Atlee is that the actor might play a double role in the film.

According to the sources "Nayanthara plays an investigating officer in Atlee's next. Yes, Shah Rukh Khan plays a dual role - of the father and the son. The movie's premise is about this one man (played by SRK) who leads a group of wrongly accused female jail mates (played by Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and others) and turns them into a group of vigilantes fighting against social evils."
