Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year. The cop drama went on to become the 2nd highest opening film with Rs 26.29 crore for Akshay Kumar after Mission Mangal which opened to Rs 29.16 crore in 2019 during the Independence Day week despite clashing with John Abraham's Batla House.

On the second day, the cop action drama held well on to its position and dropped by only 10% which is excellent considering Friday was Diwali, on Saturday, the Karan Johar produced film earned Rs 23.85 crore. The earnings shot up on Sunday and minted Rs 26.94 crore. As per early estimates, Sooryavanshi held well on its first weekday and collected somewhere between Rs 13-14 crore, bringing the first four days collections to Rs 91-92 crore.
