Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters today. The big budgeted three-quel to Singham and Simmba is highly anticipated film in the Rohit Shetty’s cop universe and was expected to bring the audience back to theaters during the Diwali festival this year. The cop drama had already opened on a good note in the morning shows across India.

The action flick had opened to 35-40% occupancy in the morning shows across India. As per Box Office India, the collections improved post noon with house full sign boards across the single screens especially in the states of Gujarat, UP and Saurasthra.

Akshay Kumar’s highest opening film has been Mission Mangal which opened to Rs 29.16 crore in 2019 during the Independence Day week despite clashing with John Abraham’s Batla House. Now, with phenomenal occupancy in the afternoon shows and better evening and night shows across India, Sooryavanshi might mint Rs 30 crore to become the highest opening film of Akshay Kumar by end of the day.
