Delhi is already a place which is known for its pollution. It has always been having problems of pollution and the air quality has degraded to such a low level that normal air is almost toxic to breath but this time not only delhi but also other cities are polluted.

The Delhi air quality index reading plummeted to "severe" category this morning, following the festival of Diwali as people violated the ban on firecrackers and the national capital woke up under a blanket of toxic smog.

The Overall Aqi in the city stood at 531 , according to estimates submitted by System of Air Quality and Weather Forecast and Researching . As per research these are the following cities which are the most polluted with the highest AQI.

1. DelhiAQI : 5002. Meerut, Uttar PradeshAQI : 4433 . Bathinda , PunjabAQI : 4404. Bulandshahr, Uttar PradeshAQI : 4005 . Ghaziabad, Uttar PradeshAQI : 347 .

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

This situation is very critical and the pollution has increased drastically because of Firecrackers burned during Diwali . Delhi specially is breaking all the records of being polluted . It is one of the top most polluted cities in the world.
