Dybbuk Movie Review – Interesting Plot Blemished With Weak Writing

A remake of Rajesh Khanna classic thriller of same name, the new version of Ittefaq looked promising with Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna in the lead. The crime-thriller opened to a good response by the audience and the critics and collected a good amount of Rs 30.21 crore against a budget of Rs 20 crore at the box office.

Umrao Jaan (2006)

Another classic film of same name, the J.P Dutta’s version of Umrao Jaan had a high expectations, considering it had Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Suniel Shetty in the lead. However, the newer version failed to get the appreciation as compared to the classic version starring Rekha and the drama suffered heavily at the box office, collecting a mere Rs 7.42 crore against a budget of Rs 23 crore.

When you superstars like Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor featuring in a film which is directed by veteran Priyadarshan, you expect nothing but an entertaining film. However, Kyon Ki failed to connect with the audience and turned out to be “Flop” collecting Rs 12.70 crore against a budget of Rs 21 crore.

Shaadi No.1 (2005)

No Time To Die Blast Through $600 Million Dollar Worldwide

Like Kyon Ki, the David Dhawan directed multi-starrer film Shaadi No.1 had high expectations as a wholesome family entertainer. However, the comic scenes were not good enough to make the audience laugh who gave a thumbs down to the film which collected Rs 11.48 crore against a budget of Rs 15 crore.
