Farah Khan collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan for the third time with Happy New Year after giving her blockbusters Main Hoon Na and Om Shaanti Om. Happy New Year is the first film to hold the record for the highest opening day collection with Rs 44.97 crores. Dialogues were funny. Music by the legendary Vishal-Shekhar was soul- riveting. Songs were dhmakedaar. Coming to the performance, both Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were effective.
According to the Boxofficeindia.com, Happy New year was released at 3850 screens to Rs 44.97. The film collected Rs 93.16 in its first weekend and went onto collect Rs 133.60 in its first week. Happy New year ended its theatrical run with Rs 205 against a budget of Rs 150 crore and was declared “Super Hit” at the box office.
