Actors Jude Law, Marion Cottilard, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O’Connor will star alongside Oscar winner Kate Winslet in the approaching biographical drama film Lee. The movie is based on the life of Lee Miller, the Vogue cover model turned World War II reporter.
Winslet will depict Miller who had exchanged a glamorous career as a Vogue cover model and lyricist to artists like Man Ray for a risky career as a WWII photographer
She documented the fighting on the allied front lines and uncovered the horrors that Hitler’s Nazi Germany executed on Jews in concentration camps.
Law has been set to play as Roland Penrose, an artist and poet who would ultimately fall in love with Miller; and O’Connor as Miller’s son, Anthony Penrose.
Riseborough will feature as Audrey Withers, the editor of British Vogue as a close colleague of Miller, while Cotillard will depict Solange D’Ayen, the fashion director of French Vogue.
Liz Hannah has composed the script, modifying it from the book The Lives of Lee Miller by Anthony Penrose.
Winslet is also producing the movie along with Troy Lum and Andrew Mason of Hopscotch Features, as well as Rocket Science and Finola Dwyer.
The movie is anticipated to start production early next year.
