Kiara Advani is no stranger to a lehenga, having worn the silhouette several times previously. The actor recently wore a lehenga by ace designer Anita Dongre—read on to get further details on Advani’s traditional ensemble.

Anita Dongre is famous for turning out designs that blend indigenous handicraft techniques with a more modern aesthetic. Many of Dongre's signature design elements were present in the aqua lehenga Kiara Advani wore, which featured handcrafted wildflowers in pink, white, green and orange spilling over its organza silk skirt. While brighter colours are more the norm when it comes to festive dressing, there is a quiet elegance to the pastel shades that Advani wears here that give the wearer just as much of an opportunity to stand out. Despite the intricate work featured on the garments, what makes it a favourite of ours is the addition of pockets to the skirt, which is not only uncommon when it comes to Indian wear, but also a clever way to lend a traditional silhouette some modernity—not to mention the straightforward practical benefits of having pockets. The strappy blouse that Advani wore complements the heavily embroidered skirt without adding any fussiness to the look. The actor completed her outfit with a zari dupatta adorned with embroidered wildflowers and a gota Patti border.
