1. What was your reaction to the success of first season of Mine & Yours? How would you rate that part?
The second season has nothing to do with the first season. I am grateful to the makers who made the season so beautifully and this time I think they have made it extreme well, they have pushed the boundaries the envelope talking about the LGBTQ as a community and it's based on pure basic human instincts you love someone how far will you go to get someone in your life. It's not limited to heterosexual relationships this is human behaviour if you love somebody you go after that somebody to get that somebody.
I am grateful to that I get to play in this season the fate decides for her, describing about her I would say she is funky, smart, thinks on her fate, unapologetic about anybody else. going to say about her relationship towards others like what would others think. She is also somebody who has her heart in her right place. She is bridging a Gap between the best friends; she has brought the father and protagonist of the show closer together. While she is someone who wants relationship, she is also going along building relationships.
2. As we all know this show explores LGBTQ+ themes; what's your view on how our industry is considering such social and important topics in the films, web shows and specifically on OTT?
I think these are prevalent topics and they are not topics that change according to how you feel or a culture that exists. These are stories you should have always been told but as there is this common perception that there's a right time for something to happen. Then let it be the right time for this if this is a right time then we are doing great. But the point is are these stories being told? We have enough drama, action, comedy, relief and of everything in real life then why do we need entertainment?
Entertainment allows us to reflect because it seems it’s not happening to me but it is making a difference in my life. Why shouldn't we talk about it who is the one who tells us that I need to be embarrassed by my choices if some uncle sitting somewhere speaks let him make choices for him but let us make stories that move people because we become the voice of change.
3. We've always seen you talking about these topics, do you think making content on these topics would somewhere change mindset of people and stereotypes in the society?
Atleast that's the aim, the aim is that we say stories that are real people consumed stories that are real and are able to use that as a narrative to change or to follow their own heart or to make their own decisions. Our intention is honest, our intention stems from a good place and we would like people to also take our journey as characters in utilizing in real life in a picture slot.
4. Mine and Yours, the show explores love triangle featuring two leading actors, so how was your experience working with Sayani and Nakkul?
I love Nakul he's just lovely, I carelessly live his life through Instagram, what a guy, outstanding human being You know this whole drama that goes around like people saying oh you are an OTT actor, TV actor, film actor. I think he's a superstar of his stature. He is known as a television's blue-eyed boy and I think he actually is. It was fun for me working with him.
Then there's Sayani she is so wise in the choices she makes as an actor I know that amongst these people I am only going to get better and I am always hungry to be better. I don’t question much so I didn’t question here too. The reason we did it together was the tasty yummy lunch we were provided, well that's enough reason for me I think.
5. Audio shows are the new trend, but it's new for many of them to work with, how was your experience during the production process?
I had a great time working with mantra he was producing, directing the show, directing us. I think there is no need of mentioning that he has so much experience in the radio field, and you can't question a man like that having so much experience and is mentoring us. The most important thing we need is mic, we had no makeup, no hair spa, we were raw individuals just we had to lent our voice.
I must say we made it. From 2 years Entertainment has found its wings to portray the masses in different aspects. Firstly, people only watched cinema, then they watched TV, series people didn't stop there they started watching the web series in different languages from different genres. Then when everything was exhausted, they reduced their interactions with screen's and switched to audible accounts, as it was flexible to adapt, they found it easy so they indulged themselves to listening and working.
6. Mention that one thing About Mine and Yours to audience to listen to this show.
It's got love, drama, suspense, reflection of life I suggest just listen to the show you'll get that vibe.
7. Are we gonna get more audio shows featuring you or any other kind of content & upcoming projects?
Well I have one of the biggest show just released ‘Foundation,’ can’t wait people to consume it, also I can't wait to be called back to any studio I guess Team audible is listening to me. Let’s do it!
Mine and yours is an audio show released on Audible last weekend, story features a unique modern love triangle that explores LGBTQIA themes, featuring Sayani Gupta, Kubbra Sait and Nakuul Mehta.
