Actor Urfi Javed has lashed out at trolls commenting on her bikini posts on social media by highlighting the difference in treatment meted out to artistes like her, and those who are children of celebrities.
‘Bigg Boss OTT’ contestant Urfi Javed is often trolled and ridiculed online for her fashion choices as she opts for out-of-the-box and bold outfits which compliment her figure.
Recently, Urfi took to her social media account and slammed the double standards with which star kids and television actors are treated. Urfi shared the same after she was called “cheap” for wearing a bikini.
Sharing a screenshot of an article that called Bollywood actor Jahnvi Kapoor an ‘island girl’, Urfi wrote, “Headline for a star kid.” She also shared another screenshot of a Hindi news website that described Urfi’s outfit as a ‘tiny’ choli. Sharing the screenshot, Urfi wrote, “Headline when you’re not a star-kid!”
“[If] I wear a bikini, I am cheap. When a star-kid wears a bikini, they are hot, ‘apparently’,” she was heard stating in a post. The actor adds that she has received both acclaim as well as criticism in the recent past, for her sartorial choices.
“People know me, recognise me, and often troll me. It comes with the job,” says Javed, who has, in the meanwhile, made a name for herself as content creator on the social networking platform, MoJ. “My first priority is acting, but I will not stop creating content on social media,” she signs off.
On the work front, Urfi is popular for shows like ‘Bade Bhaiyaa Ki Dulhania’, ‘Bepanaah’, ‘Daayan’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, and ‘Chandra Nandini’. She was last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’ reboot.
