Konkona Sen Sharma And Arjun Rampal Starrer The Rapist To Premier At Busan International Film Festival Today

'The Rapist' is an upcoming Hindi drama film starring Konkna Sen Sharma and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. The film is set to show the turmoil of a rape victim(played by Konkona) and how the society plays a major role in producing rapists by justifying them. It is will also po tray the painful and long legal battle that every rape survivor had to fight in order to get her rapists punished. While talking about punishments for rapists, the movie also questions what an appropriate punishment for rapists can be? Is it death penalty or no-death penalty?

Konkona Sen Sharma does an excellent job of playing a young woman who is feisty and strong before she gets raped and her life comes crashing down. Even though she is raped she still has the fire in her eyes, the eyes that will penetrate deep down inside your soul and question you, are you responsible for her pain too? Arjun Rampal plays her husband.

The film, directed by Aparna Sen, a National Award winning director wrapped filming on April 2021. It is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Quest Films Pvt. Ltd is part of the festival's 'A Window on Asian Cinema' section and is nominated for Kim Jiseok Award.

Busan International Film Festival(BIIF) kicked off on October 6 and will last for 10 days ending on October 15. The film festival will showcase and celebrate talents in the film industry from across the world. The BIFF is in its 26th edition.
