BLACKPINK’s Lisa who is the global brand ambassador of luxury jewelry brand BVLGARI has the special privilege of attending its events in Paris. But YG Entertainment is not allowing her to attend events in the city, due to COVID-19 concerns. Following this news Blinks demands a change.
Lisa is currently in Paris for Paris Fashion Week, but according to BVLGARI CEO Jean-Christophe Babin, YG Entertainment is not allowing her to attend events in the city, due to COVID-19 concerns.
In a recent post, Jean-Christophe Babin thanked several people for the brand’s catwalk at the Paris Opera, which Lisa was not present for. He noted that Lisa’s agency, YG Entertainment, did not allow her to attend the event due to COVID-19. He called it a “pity” that she will be missing a big event the next day.
In a separate IG post, and in the caption he written , “Our great ambassador @lalalalisa_m is in Europe. Unfortunately, due to COVID, her agency prefers [that she] not [participate in] events or shows. That’s also the reason why insofar we could not shoot her together with @zendaya, @lilyaldridge and @vittoria for the @bulgari Brand Campaign 2021/22 and [why] we could not run a major event yet together.“
Jean-Christophe Babin added, “But YES we will do it very soon as we are great friends and are striving to really activate the collaboration at 360 degrees. I hope it answers @lalalalisa_m [fans’] many inquiries and questions [that I received.]“
As she was not allowed, Lisa is missing out on work that would benefit her career, including a photo shoot with American actress-singer Zendaya and American supermodel Lily Aldridge.
BLACKPINK’s fandom, BLINK “JUSTICE FOR LISA,” “#YGLetLisaDoHerWork,” and related hashtags to call attention to the situation. Many fans feel that it was unfair of YG Entertainment to allow Lisa to travel to Paris but bar her from events that other stars are attending, as permitted by the current COVID-19 restrictions.
Additional to this, fans have noticed that Lisa’s playlist is no longer on YG Entertainment’s Spotify. Some are now wondering if the change could be connected to the Paris situation.
YG Entertainment has yet to release a statement in response to the news.
