The Game of Thrones Season 8 finale might have left spectators dissatisfied, but there might be striving for redemption. HBO Max on Tuesday released the first teaser for House Of The Dragon, which is a spin-off to the fantasy series, founded on the books by George RR Martin. The new sequence is set 200 years before ‘the fall of the throne’.
“Gods, kings, fire, and blood,” tells Matt Smith’s role, Prince Daemon Targaryen, in a voiceover, as we see short clips of the sea, battles, and scenes of new roles. “Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did,” he surmises, as the one-minute teaser slides to the logo and title, which displays the Game of Thrones brand.
House of the Dragon is co-generated by Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who will also direct many episodes.
The cast comprises Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke who will appear as Alicent Hightower.
The first season of House Of The Dragon will contain 10 episodes. It will be released in 2022.
