Navratri Festival 2021: The Maharashtra Government has implement Some Restrictions on Navaratri Festival! Read For More Details

As the COVID-19 cases has come down in some parts of Maharashtra. But still there will be the change of third wave in India. So the Maharashtra Government has Prohibited the Dandiya, Garba and the other cultural Celebration for the Navratri. As the Navratri 2021 is starting from October 07 till 15 October. To avoid the rush of the people, that's why the restrictions has implement.

Even there is a restrictions on the heights of idols for the community pandals the height of the pandals should upto for feet not more than that and two feet for the individual celebrations.

Apart from this, it has been said to the community pandals that they should be the arrangements of online darshan for the people, so there will be less crowd and also banned more than five people at a time in the community pandals.

This order came in details guidelines on Monday, which was issued by the state home department. The reason for the prohibition on the celebration is. As the COVID-19 second wave has gone, but still allowing the people to gathering and to make the places crowd only for the celebration in such situation, where the COVID-19 is there on the door is not a good idea.

So the government has given some sort of precautions to the people by this restrictions while celebrating the Navratri festival - The State Government Said in the circular.

“Do not organize garba, dandiya or any other cultural programmes. Instead, give priority to organise health camps such as blood donation and awareness programmes for prevention of Covid-19, malaria and dengue, among others. The community mandals should make arrangements for online darshan of the idols through cable network, website, Facebook and other social media platforms" stated in the circular.

"Do not allow more than five people at a time in community pandals. Foods and beverages have also been strictly prohibited in the community pandals. Ensure no crowding while holding bhajan, aarti and kirtan and noise pollution norms are also followed. The same rules will be applicable even for the Rawan Dahan event,” it added

“Do not organise any procession either for home arrival or immersions of the idols. The traditional ‘aarti’ shall be performed at home, instead of the immersion places. Children and senior citizens should avoid going for immersions,” it stated.

The State Government further said that "If the idols installed are made of clay or are eco-friendly, then they can be immersed at home itself. If not possible at home, the idols should be immersed in a nearby artificial pond".
