Recently, a black mesh sweater has been creating a lot of buzzes as some Korean celebs were spotted wearing it and netizens can't get enough of them. Apparently, it was not only one star who wore but 6. So let's find out the hype behind this sweater! Each Korean star wore it for different occasions but served a completely different vibe making them stand out the most.
The sweater which has been in the spotlight is TURTLENECK SWEATER IN VISCOSE MESH from an Italian luxury fashion house named Valentino for The Fall/Winter 2021-22 Act Collection. This top is from the runway and costs $2,550 USD, and there are a couple of different versions with slight differences.
The first Korean celeb to dawn this sweater was KARD's BM. Last week he attended nine different shows for Paris Fashion Week 2021 and one of them was Valentino. He showed up for the show in this sweater from the brand pairing it up with a blazer and pants. He kept his slightly oversized black suit buttoned as not to reveal too much as he wore the see-through shirt with nothing underneath. As always, he looked both classy and hip.
The second was TXT's Yeonjun who wore this sweater for an Elle photoshoot. But the K-pop star took this a notch higher and it a sexy look instead. His hair was disheveled, but he also kept his coat unbuttoned to reveal some skin. They don’t call him the “4th Gen-It Boy” for nothing. MOA's definitely couldn't stop praising his look and even we love to see him sport such looks.
Third, was Kim Seon Ho’s character Chief Hong (also known as Du Sik) from the Netflix show Hometown Cha Cha Cha. His character went on a date with Shin Min Ah‘s character Hye Jin to a mall in Seoul. In that scene, he tried a lot of clothes from the store, and one of them was this mesh sweater from Valentino. Like Yeonjun, he revealed more skin than most as he teasingly removed his jacket. While others stylishly wore theirs for a sexy and sophisticated look, he wore the top humorously.
The sweater took a full swing in popularity when BTS's V wore it for The Fact Music Award on 2nd October. He kept his look classy with a jacket buttoned up and hair sleek back. He also accessorized it with lots of fine jewelry from Boucheron Paris and a pair of Valentino’s “UPRAISE CALFSKIN DERBY” shoes. We stan a conscientious king.
Last was BTS's Jimin who wore the same sweater with V at The Fact Music Award 2021. Jimin’s, however, is slightly different in that the top’s holes are more vertical ovals while the others’ have horizontal ones. He styled it with a long black sleeve and no skin was visible. Like V, he paired with a lot of accessories and a pair of boots from Valentino.
