India was terrorised by a bunch of jihadis on 26/11/2008, a day which has ever since become a watershed in the history of India’s long fight against Pakistan sponsored terrorism. The attacks which shook Mumbai, the economic capital of India, not only made us realise the importance of strengthening our security apparatus but also served as a wake-up call for all of us, particularly the Government machinery. Some of the scenes from the video footage are still fresh in our memories and will perhaps continue to remain so because of the ghastly nature of the attacks. Mumbai was under siege and so was the rest of the country. 26/11 has elicited a lot of response from various sections of the intelligentsia, and over the years many books and articles have appeared which deal with the terrorist attacks that took place on that fateful day. Many filmmakers have also dealt with this theme in their attempt to showcase what can definitely be referred to as one of the most gruesome terror attacks on Indian soil.
Bollywood and Marathi actress Sonali Kulkarni recent appearance in the web show Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is getting praised, and the actress is happy to mark her debut in OTT.
Recently, Sonali was announced as the brand ambassador of a Haware's group, and during the media interaction, the actress said, "Even though I just had a guest appearance (in Mumbai Diaries 26/11), I'm glad that people liked it. Nikhil Advani (show creator) is a friend of mine, and he offered me the show by telling me that it is a very powerpack scene, but I want the impact, so I accepted the offer, I am happy that I have entered into the web world, and you have a lot more to see in the coming few months."
Kulkarni even shared her memories related to the horrific terror attack on Mumbai and she further asserted that she doesn't want to revisit the memories again, "I am an emotional person myself, and 26/11 was the incident where I realised that I've become a true Mumbaikar. I belong to Pune, but I've been to Mumbai for over two decades, and that incident made me feel for my people in Mumbai. I was completely shaken. Till date, I don't want to revisit the memory. I don't want to visit the places, and if I have to, it leaves me with goosebumps and a lump in my throat." Sonali concluded.
