Because of the pandemic cinema houses are shut but songs from movies are ruling the music charts. Recently released and bang on hit Shershaah had a digital opening but the songs from the film have broken all the records.
Towards the end of August, two songs from Shershaah, ‘Raataan Lambiyan’ sung by Tanishk Bagchi, Jubin Nautiyal and Asees Kaur and ‘Ranjha’ sung by Jasleen Royal and B Praak have set new records for the most stream in a week on Spotify India.
The song Raataan Lambiyan played over 8.2 million times where the song ‘Ranjha’ played over 7.3 million times. It has surpassed the record set by the Korean band BTS for their song ‘Butter’ in May. Butter was played 5.3 million times.
The number is so big to make these songs the only Indian tracks so far to reach the top 100 of Spotify’s daily and weekly Global charts on which Ranjha peaked at No 77 and 79 and Raataan Lambiyan peaked at No 60 and 63.
