Mumbai Indians is finally back into the game after defeating Punjab Kings earlier in the evening match of double header day in IPL UAE leg.

With the likes of Hardik Pandya and Saurabh Tiwari in the batting Mumbai comfortable chased 135 runs losing 4 wickets. Kieron Pollard too played some nasty shots in the end which confirmed the victory for Mumbai Paltan, this is their first victory in last four which was really needed to keep up with the points table.

Earlier Mumbai Indians opted bowl first which turns out a good chance against Punjab Kings who’s batting is completely dependent upon opening pair. This time it was Mandeep Singh with KL Rahul; both started well but couldn’t control their nerves for longer. Both scored 36 for first wicket. In the very next over Pollard trapped two big fishes, Rahul & Chris Gayle which put Punjab on 41 for 3.

Markram and Deepak Hooda then came to rescue and put some runs on scorecard. Markram scored 42 off 39 but unfortunately got bowed by R Chahar while Bumrah got Hooda’s wicket. Punjab scored 135 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets.

In the second inning Punjab started well with quick wickets of dangerous batters, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. Though Quinton De Kock and Saurabh Tiwary saved batting line up from a collapsed. Tiwary who got his place in playing XI ahead of Ishan Kishan scored 45 runs while Hardik Pandya looked like old Hardik when we scored 40 runs off 30 balls.

Mumbai Indians has a history of comeback in the ending days of league, this win may mark the beginning for them with the coming form of Bumrah, Pollard and Pandya in the account.
